Viva Mexico: 48 Hours in Mexico City

Hola! Passport 2 Pretty dashed to Mexico City para una pequena fiesta para mi cumpleanos! Before I torture you with my Span-glish I want to say that Mexico City is a great city, a loving city and a safe city. When I first told my friends and family they immediately questioned my rationale to travel to Mexico solo. My response was “Are we ever really safe anywhere?” Besides a lot of the chaos happens along the boarder where our bad guys are fighting with their bad guys for power, money and drugs. Since Im not looking to start a new cartel, I figured I would be just fine.   There…

    The San Francisco Treat

Passport 2 Pretty is all about traveling and when I got the call to attend the Women’s Travel Fest, there were no questions asked, only bags packed. The trip was a quick one and I had to make good use of my time. Here are a few Dos and Dont’s for 48 hours in San Franscisco.   DO stay in Union Square. Now don’t get me wrong there are some amazing Air BnB pads that you could only dream of residing in but when you only have 48 hours, time is of the essence. I stayed in Hotel Union Square right on Powell in the thick of Union Square. Union Square…

The New York Times Travel Show 2015

The New York Times Travel hosted the largest trade and travel show in North America.  Jacob Javits Center was the home of over 500 exhibitors and over 150 countries represented. I had the privilege of attending for the first time. Needless to say I was elated when I arrived and checked in to receive my press pass. One of the very first things I noticed was the diversity within the crowd. There were young children, couples and seniors all with at least one thing in common…TRAVEL!     I grabbed the official guide and a made a note of a few countries that I desired more information about. I visited the…

    Spooky Destinations

As much as I love travel there are some places that I just won’t go! Xochimico is just south of Mexico City, you’ll find “The Island of the Dolls.” Don Julian Santana Barrera once found a little girl in the river who had drowned, and awhile after her death he found a floating doll in the river. To honor her, he hung the doll in the tree, and over the years he found more dolls, convincing him that each one held the spirit of a dead little girl. Im totally creeped out! Catacombs in Paris, an underground ossuary in Paris that holds the remains of about 7 million people. Part of…
